SEAHAWK ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyways, looks nice. Any reasone for the woofer being soo close to the port and soo far away from the top of the box? And the port being soo close to the bottom wall? I know Tal likes his, how do you like them?

Looks good!
Nice driver screws (Heh heh heh)....
I don't think they need grills, I like the way they look, but that's just my opinion...
How do they sound?????
The Seahawks going to the Superbowl is allowable in this forum.... Don't forget, Doc and I grew up on the Hawks, and it is our forum.....

Well...unfortunatly....they sound like shit...LOL
I had my Rec to Crossover (8awg) then from crossovers to the cabinets.
Had some shit in it.......sounded horrible...
So i unhooked my 8awg from the crossovers and reconnected my Kit 81s
And still some shit in them too..!
And they sounded fine on the 12awg speaker wire just the day before watching movies...
So the only thing i changed was the introduction of 8awg into the system...so ...i'm taking that shit back out......
And gonna go get some good speaker wire on my way home to re-do the connection..
So its either the 8awg giving me shit...or my rec'r is going to hell...we'll find out.

Dude, PMS? Im pretty sure they have pills for it :P  First time in the 30 years of us paying for them and the new stadium. And with 90% of the posters here being from WA, I thought it would be post worthy. Its exciting stuff.

Would have helped if I looked at the plans  Interesting no the less.

Feel free to dismiss this as bullshit.....but what sort of HT receiver needs 8 AWG wire?
I can understand heavy AWG wire with car stereo, but I dunno about home audio.....maybe with a subwoofer application with a high powered amplifier.
Maybe the heavy gauge wire may be giving a little too much inductance contributing to possible oscillation with the receiver?
Hell, I dunno.....
Oh BTW, GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!

i believe the only time that large awg wire becomes an issue is if its single strand, and it only introduces issues with higher frequencies.
why 8awg mike?.... cause he can. 1 more thing to brag about....(read: he's compensating for something) :D

Mike is on the right track actually...
The reason i used it mike is because i just took my wall out of my truck and i didn't have enough 12awg speaker wire so i just used my 8awg speaker wire ... unfortunatly...it was the source of the problem for the most part......and still may be an issue...i'll find out as soon as i can get more 12 awg...
I live across town from my shop now...so i can't just walk outside and grab a roll when i want to like in times past..
Anyway.
After cutting about 8 feet of 8awg off …and making it just about 2 foot runs…the HE10s woke up and gave me some good clean sound…
They are kinda mid bassy though…they don’t sound like they did when I heard them first. Wonder if its too much poly…I used what they sent me… I dunno…
Away like 15 feet away….they are so clean…
But about 8 feet away…they kind drummy…
Granted….i heard a 5.1 set up with them…and listened to mostly music then…
So maybe I just expected too much from a pair…
Hard to say…..
So anyway…95honda wants a good hi def shot of my crossovers so he can check it for mistakes..i was supposed to do it last night...but I neglected to take a picture of the crossover because I thought I had it fixed…but I’ll take it tonight just to see what he thinks.
I'll keep you guys posted on the project.

Beat on the woofers for a while. They are super stiff outa the box. Once broke in, you'll probably tame that midbass hump....
