Well I guess I could get off my lazy ass and post something on some of the projects I have been working on....
I just finished the crossovers and have almost finished the cabinets for a set of 3 ways with Dayton 15" Subwoofers, dual 6.5s and 1 1/8" tweeters... They are for a buddies garage system, they are looking pretty good so far, 1" walls with 1.5" thick baffles... Should be done in a week or so... For the prices of the drivers, these look real promising...
I ordered 4 Tangband neo 8s for dad's F-150... They will be drien by a MMATTS DHC2200.1... Also a Rockford Punch Power 4 channel 400 watt amp (2002 ish vintage) running a set of components I designed, going full active on the crossovers... The tweeters are Vifa 1" neos and the 6.5s are Dayton HiFis, 4 ohm versions.... I am also going to put a few gallons of deadener in there and a bunch of Dynamat, or at least the generic equivelent.....
I'm building a few subwoofer boxes for Black00, on for the H/T and one for the truck...
I am trying to get a bunch of cabinets sanded and Line-X'd for Ryan (Bigsmooth) for his 4" fullranges... They should be done soon also...
I still haven't had time to finish my dual 12 Tempest box for the Bronco, or even install the CD player Black00 sent me.... Soon, very soon... I hope...
I really have to figure out how to use the new camera my wife bought so I can start throwing up pictures..... Not much longer I think, she uses it almost every day, it shouldn't be to tough for me to learn...

Back in the habit already huh? That is what I like to see. I am interested in those "garage 3 ways". I am sure they would scream, for any band or over any air tool. LOL
Well good luck with it all. I got my molds done. Now on to making the mounting rings.

I just ordered 5 gallons of VB-1 sound dampener and about 50ft2 of dampening sheets for dad's truck... I am going to pull all the interior out and the doors off and spray everything, even the the roof.... Should sound pretty good in there, I'll be stuffin the hell out of everything else elso with acoustic foam and fiberglass....

Most everything has arrived for dad's truck... I was really surprised at the build quality of the Tangband 8s.... They are a hell of a lot beefier than the pictures lead you to beileve.... The suspentions look the part to have +/-12mm of xmax, and the voice coil looks very healthy with large gauge wire.... I really can't wait to get going on this project.... Today I clean out the garage to start making room for everything....

I'll be finishing up the 3-ways this weekend....
I also just finished completely overhauling a large set of Polk audio speakers. They have 8 6.5" woofers, 4 1" tweeters and a 15" Passive.... I completely re-built the crossovers and am going to spray the inside of the cabinets with dampening compound...... One of these days I'll post pictures...

Sounds like a pair SDA SRS Polks you are playing with.
I visited a guy named Al on the south hill that has a pair powered with a Adcom amp.
The bass from those 15" passives is rather impressive from what I recall.
Love to see your progress on those beasts.......

Well, I finished the big 3-ways... They sound pretty good, have a real healthy bottom end... I need to figure out a way to easily compresss the pictures I have so I can post them, I usually do it at work, but I don't have those programs on the home computer....

Multiple image resizer.net (yes the program has .net in it's name. I check it, free of spyware, virii, just simple and good)
http://www.tucows.com/preview/300445
I use this program for my recent project log over at soundillusions.net and firberglassforums.com to resize 40+ pics at a time from 3-4megabytes each to 100kb in just under a minute. you can even do some other neat little things with this program. nothing fancy, but does the job, quick and easy.

Yep the big SDAs. I just finished spraying 1 gallon of Cascade Quiet Coat in each cabinet. It went about 1/4" thick with 4 coats..... They are big cabs though, about 5' tall, 2' wide and 1.5' deep..... 8x 6 1/2" woofs per side with a 15 PR, they better have some bass.... They are basically done, I just have to re-assemble them... I'll get some good pictures of them...
I finally finished the dual 12 Tempest box for the Bronco, I am going to get it Line-x'd this week.....
I had a pair of cabinets sprayed last week, my friend Mat sold out the Line-x shop and it took me 2 months to convince the new guy to do what I wanted. These were the first speaker boxes he had done. They were no where near the quality that Mat did, the first one he did he had to re-spray to get it even, ended being about 3/8" thick and adding about 20lbs to the box... No kidding.... The second one looked better, but still not as good as I was accustomed to... Hopefully he will do better on the 3rd one. I also have 8 cabinets that Ryan (Bigsmooth) built that I prepped up to spray but I have been very leary about having the new guy do it. If I wasn't selling those first to cabinets to some kids, I would have tossed them and started over.... Like I said, we'll see... If this looks good I'll bring in Ryan's....
We set up the big Dayton 3-ways at my friends shop. They are extremely loud, they sound good, but he will end up pissing the ever living shit out of his neighbors.....
I couldn't downlod MIR.net for my pics because I don't have some stupid software that lets me use .net programs.... I'll figure it out..
The spray gun that Parts Express sells for the dampening spray works awesome, dad's truck is going to go great.....
Not sure if I talked about it yet, but I did 2 full installs last weekend, took about 14 hours total, they turned out great, I made $500, and got some real good pictures. One system had that RE8 box in the back with a pair of amps (class-d sub and A/B 4 channel) inside a sealed compartment with forced air fan cooling I built, really turned out nice, killer sound also.... I installed one of the new decks that had the cokmplete I-Pod control system where you stashed the I-pod in the glove box and the head unit completely takes over, pretty sweet, it charges it and everything.... I also installed a dual Parts Express HO10 sub cab and Orion 600d in an 06' Civic.... Like I said, pics will come....

Those things look like they can boogie.....I know they are just shop speakers, but you didn't make them mirror imaged....just kidding.....they do have the di-appolito MTM thing going however.
I suppose you Just have to toe one speaker different from the other for best stereo.
What is your opinion of the line-X treatment to these Dayton enclosures?
Helluva pair of shop speakers.......
