1.2cuft @ 29hz w/ 8.25sq in of port (keep in mind, was designed for 160w total)
i kind of want to throw this in my car... and get it metered... i could always choke the 8's with around 800rms @ tuning if i wanted... hehehehe yeah... don't really want to kill them tho.

the now X-GF said it looked really nice, and that i'd be able to find a nice home for it. Temporary home will be in my trunk.... not sure what will happen with it tho

im gonna do a similar finish on my ht box
im just wondering what roundover bit you used and what type of paint
how many coats of each (primer fiberglass bondo and paint) did you use.
im new to painting so anything you can add helps

i can't remember off the top of my head the roundover bit i used. If i have time, i'll check today.
the paint i used.... you don't want to use. You want to paint with a spray gun, that way the paint will go on very even & fast. And from what i hear you want to use a hard paint like an automotive paint, same goes with the primer.
Biggest thing is to get the primer coats extremely smooth, paint, sand, paint, and so on.

ok... roundover bit... on my box i actually experimented a bit, I picked up this 4 pack of craftsmen bits... was like $35-40 lil more than buying just one. Anyways... i did the edges with 3/8" and the port i did with 1/2" either will work fine, however, if you plan on rounding the port as well, i recomend doing it with the same bit as the rest of the box.
I actually would've done the edges with the 1/2" but at that point, was getting a lil tired of sanding. If you use screws to hold your box together, you'll have to make sure the roundover bit won't hit the screws, Counter sink, and you shouldn't have much trouble, at least not with the 3/8".

the same as it did before... :D i like it... wish i had something better than stock speakers tho.
right now i have them hooked up to a single channel off the 800F (200x2), so thats 400rms @ 2ohm.

ok... a problem surfaced.
Before i rounded the edges of the box, sanded, and painted, i had no problem with the box staying put. Now the thing flies around the trunk all the time.
Any ideas how i can keep it from moving???
The only thing i can really think of is to put a rubber mat underneath the box.
nothing really to tie/secure the box down to, and i'm not running a bolt thru my box & trunk.

L brackets maybe.
Good way to secure your box down to prevent theft too... hell, just build a bigger box ;)
Idea #2: Put your golf clubs in the back too?

Yep....heavy duty hook loop vel or
My favorite.....
Rubber feet.
Just take them off the thing they come on....and they stick to smooth surfaces .....and it'll hold in place...but about 8 of dem whores on it...she won't move unless your carpet moves...and if you want to take them off...you just give the yank on them...

four big strips on the bottom of the box with velcro should hold it fine

Where can you pick up the Tang Band 8's? I figured PE would have them, but it seems all they carry is the 6.5" subs. I remember SIN had a group buy on em' a while back..shoulda jumped on it.

i actually don't know of a dealer for the TB8's anymore...
tho honestly... the 6's don't seem like a bad replacement. Might try contancting TB and asking them for some dealers to contact.
