Just wanted to post this to get some comments and suggestions and thoughts...(yes and EVEN slams lmao)

YEA i'm proud of it too

Plans came from team toxic bass (pete)

It will be for 2 L7 10's ('05, the NEW model) subs will get about 700 - 800 watts rms each (hifonics 1605d)

Now Jblgeo, (robert) is the magnificant box builder and we met up today. This is what he has so far
[img]
He's (jblgeo) is probably one of (if not the best) the best box builders I've delt with... I can't wait for this box to be done, he's got some cool things he wants to do to it so I cant wait :D

NOW, let the comments FLOW 8)

I think i just figured out who you are.
Robert was telling me about this box, looks interesting, i'd like to know how it actually works when it gets done.

yup it's me :o

I've been without bass for almost 2 months and I just cant contain myself... I've been told this should pretty good since it was designed for the specific subs (L7's)

AND.... to top it off I just got my apx 15 in today   and that sub just LOOKS amazing.. anyway I hope to have a comparison of both setups sometime in the month of august... (apx 15 4.5^3 @ 38) vs the 6th order b/p....

Where have you been Stunna, your not keeping up on the pics :P

Build up.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/561000-561999/561792_342_full.jpg

Design flaw and modification. The subs need a way to get in the box and out if anything happened. So the side panels will be removable.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/561000-561999/561792_345_full.jpg

Some body filler and rounding the front port.
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/561000-561999/561792_348_full.jpg

Internal ports mounted. Silicon around the ports to help stop them from moving.. They wouldnt move without it, but better safe that sorry. Same for the corners, it didnt really need it, but I put in anyways.

dude that shiz is awesome
i might have him build me something
cuz im sure his box making abilities are much better than mine

this is off topic but
how are you gonna carpet the kicker letters
and how did you get such clean cuts

BELIEVE me, you would be HARD PRESSED to find someone as good as Robert, especially here in Western washington... (to me) he goes beyond the norm...

When he built my box for my ava 18 it took me almost an hour to cut out with a reciprecating saw, and a 3+ pound hammer  dayum thing was ALMOST indistructable!!!!

No carpet. The inside of the box will be blue (tried to get close to the blue that Kickers using now) and the face of the letters will be blue. On the rest of the box Im going to use a rattle can bed liner (black). The blue has already been laid, but trying to take pictures of it isnt working so good. My digi cam doesnt like the colors..

I cut the letters out free hand using a band saw. Then the round parts of the R I used a scroll saw. The C I cut with the band saw and rounded the outside with a disc sander and the inside with a drum sander 8)

Edit, yeah, I think my connection is to slow lmao.. It doesnt upload fast enough to get a clear picture? Sucks

Started with the Dupli color spray on bed liner. Not as good as the real thing, but way better than paint for the money :D 8)

wow i like the work that you do

i have built quite a few boxes and i have come to the realization that i am not the best at wood working...im not terrible but i have alot of room for improvement

after you finish that box can i come down and check it out?

i am thinking of going with the spray on bedliner as well

if your work is anything like these pics then id definitely pay you to build me something

DupliColor bed liner applied. Waiting for subs and terminals.

Looks nice!

How about some particulars on the enclosure aligment?

singlesubsetup
08-02-2005, 08:20 AM
omfgosh! I "ALMOST" had a tear in my eye... it is truely BEAUTIFUL

95 honda, it's a series tuned 6th order b/p designed by pete @ teamtoxic bass, I was looking for MORE output since my last couple of set ups did'nt do it for me...

I purchased an apx 15 and WAS (I may still do it) going to put it in a 4.5^3 box tuned to 38 hz on 2500 watts, but Pete (at toxicbass) told me the series tuned 6th order, would be LOUDER than the apx

So I put the apx 15 on hold to go with the b/p design. Reson being IF i go the apx route, were talking about extra batteries, and MORE upgrades. Where my current electrical system does'nt have a problem with my hifonics 1600 watt amp. (I have upgraded all wires to 4 gauge and I have a blue top as the main battery, with a kinetik cap killer in the back)

95Honda

I figured 6th order from the pictures... Looks good... I hope you get what you want out of it...

If it weren't for Bose being such patent pricks, I think you would see a lot more 6th order aligments commercially avalible..... There is a lot of gain for SPL to be exploited with 6th order....

Robert is doing a nice job on the box also, looks to be built to last.....

singlesubsetup
08-02-2005, 10:01 AM
L0l, yes, I'm hoping for LOTS of output lol. While I've seen your work and know you are also extremely tallented, for us in western washington they dont get much better than Robert :)

I'm dectecting some skeptisism about the design??? Usable freq range is from 30 - 80 hz, which is not bad at all considering the design... I would like your thoughts and opinions ...

Also Pete mentioned there are some other ways to increase to output of this box but he's failed to mention it... What could he be talking about ??
HexiBase
I think it looks awesome, by the way, I did some more calculations and there is a very simple modification that you can make to that box for even better sound quality, slightly more SPL. Ha ha. It's a very simple mod. You don't cut or unscrew anything :-)

95Honda
08-02-2005, 11:34 AM
Not picking the design apart at all, just curious.....

If everyone stuck to standard designs, there wouldn't ever be anything neat built.....

As far as my box building abilities, I'm hoping to be on par with the pros at Circuit City some day.....

TalNLnky
08-02-2005, 11:39 AM
yeah... robert was just given the design/blueprints, he wasn't told the tunings or any of that jazz. wouldn't be too hard to figure out tho. I saw the theoretical freq response chart on the box.... had a nice big bump for spl.

95Honda
08-02-2005, 11:49 AM

My 8 box response, heh heh heh.....

Wow I LOOOVE THAT freq response  And the comment about being as good as those at circut city.... THAT'S really funny... I just wish we had more capable individuals in western washington that were'nt trying to charge us 1k $$$ to put a box together...

tallnlanky, I've never really got anything from pete about the specifics on this box. (except the freq graph that compares the b/p box versus the apx 15 on 2500)

Now I'm on my way to get some front door speakers  Damn I cant wait to hear this box

Looks like you need to adjust your graph

Heres the respones curve of this box compared to the APX Stunna mentioned.

I could guess at the tunings, but ISD doesnt do series tuned bandpass design and Im too cheap to get a better box program :? I would guess (hope) modeling it up will just show the same thing thats in that pic.

Box made it in the car yesterday. Oh man is this thing loud. Its louder than my old setup with two JBL WGTi's tuned to 40 hz's. We set the subsonic at 35hz's and the lowpass roughly around 80. The box plays pretty damn good to 25hz's. We also installed a cap killer and the voltage stays above 12 volts when running rull blast and above 13 volts for more moderate driving volumes...

Yea the myth is just that a myth... this box hammers for 2 10's...

My ears still hurt lol.... SUPER, DUPER pleased... (finally) quick response to kick petals, plays fairly low and is LOUD... cant complain on this design, and, the box, speaks for itself... AWSOME job by Robert AND his dad!

Unlike the last time when Robert and I went to Adire I was embarressed to let anyone really hear my setup cause it suk BAD... but this one however sounds NIIIIICE...

Nice weather, pizza, and the smell of HOT melting solder, (Robert and Dad soldered my rear connections) made for a great day. That and being 2 1/2 hours late for work :D

this project is done and was a great success, thanks to Robert, and Pete for the design...
