Taking the subwoofer out from my receiver to a low pass crossover and then to the Soundstream C-1 preamp and onto the Soundstream DA-1 dual monoblock amplifier.

Looks VERY nice, great craftsmanship there... how's it sound??

Well I only got to test it out with some test tones and what not. It can get loud. The silicone wasn't fully cured so I didn't want to push it. It isn't in its permenant spot yet.

I dont' know why but I'm afraid to push them hard since Ed doesn't make these anymore and the reputation that Ed has for over rating their subwoofers. They just look a bit fragile too. I've had these since Jan 04 and I've just finished this now :?

I also want to get some feet for it. I was thinking of those spieks but I need to find some first.

There are a few things I would have done different if I'd do it again. I also regret not bracing the outside of the port (outside wall portion) since I can feel it vibrate more then the other sides. I was thinking of sandwiching a peice of MDF in themiddle of the port. Maybe on 5/8" MDF and sanded on both end to minimize air disturbance.

I am a bit concerned. On certain notes or songs it almost sounds like a ratling or even a metal knocking noise. Seems to be on punchy notes but not all the time.
