Can anyone model a 4th order bp for eclipse alums 12"

I have winisd but I've heard it is less reliable for bp's than BBpro, so if anyone has a second please help me out.

How does tuning work in BP (tune to the highest freq you want it to play) and if you tune lower will that allow it to play louder lower?

I'm going for a blow thru the rear armrest in a 95bmw. plenty of amp, and looking for the best SQ possible SPL is very distant but do to trunk rattles this design looks best.

thanks,
b

How about a scaled up Wicked One?

Edit: Or talk to Hexibase. That guys like a bandpass god. He puts more detial into his designs than I could ever imagine.

What model number are they? Looks like Eclipse has two different lines of Alum. subs now. SW7100 and SW7300.

I've built two WO's so far and there is no way a WO will fit in this car.

I'm just tying to go 4th order with a fairly large port (inside diameter can be up to 10.5x7.5

I don't know the model # since they are not mine and my friend who I'm building em for doesn't know anyway. Is there any chance you could run  both and then we could compare and see if they are any diff.

Thanks Robert,

b

Is hexibase on this forum too?

nope.. he is not

eclipse over the post 2 years has totally phuqered wither thier model #'s...  the Alum used to only come in 2 flavors.. IIRC, SVC 4, and DVC 4, both of which were very similar... and went by the model 88xxx  (xxx = size + coil type)

then they came out with the TI pro, redesigned the TI motor to detach, and they changed the entire line.... Sooo they have more out there than what they actually say.

Going to need a model number. I have no clue to which it is. BBpro doesnt have any of the new stuff nor does Eclipse list the T/S parameters. Hopefully they are the older models that BBpro already has programed into, but it only lists the model designation like Tal was spouting out. I dont have a clue which are the Aluminums.

damn it!

I'm trying to start on this thing tomorrow. I'll call my friend and see if he can take em out of the box and get the number but he's working till 11pm tonight and he might not even have a philips handy.

Thanks for all your help and hopefully I can get you a better starting point.

Okay I still don't know the model number but i do know they are the first series of elcipse alums that came out and they are in a single 4ohm vc

If anyone does respond to this can you please let me know if you moddled em as a pair or single I don't want to make a wrong assumption and have a really small or really large box.

thanks again,

Sorry it took so long to get back on here. I woke up at 8am this morning, hopped in on the puter and we lost power for the next 12 hours

Anyways, Im no bandpass box pro or anything like that. I dont have much experience designing and testing. But heres a shot..

Model #88120.4

Sealed chamber: 2 cubes

Ported chamber: 1.75 cubes @ 50hz's

Port: 13 x 4 @ 28.5" Long

You can make the port bigger with added length. The suggested port is something around 110"s long which I think is crazy. But I dont know, I have limited bandpass design and testing experience.

Thinking of this, I wonder what would happen building the port into a 1/4 wave transmition line. Port it to accomidate the 50hz's tuning and either 1/4 wave it to that or the resonances of the sealed chamber. Could be interesting.

thanks for your help Robert,

I wound up doing a normal sealed box instead. One reason was the fact a BP would have been far larger than the sealed box and second its way less predicatable. We're going to be doing a bit more sound deadening in my friends trunk with should help out.

I think the T-line BP would be a sweet idea to try out. If I ever build one I might prototye on something small so I don't waste a bunch of wood. Maybe trying the new Mpyre audio 6"sub

later,
