Has anyone seen a tried and true crossover for the Beta 12CX/APT 50 combo?  Does anyone know if this would be any different than the Adire HE12 crossover? (Mike S?)

From searching on the net, the Adire HE12.1 seems to be a Eminence Beta 12CX with the APT 50 HF driver.
Unless Adire did mods to these Eminence drivers, which I really have no clue.

I haven't really studied the Adire HE12.1 x-over schematic, and the Adire site is gone with the PDF files for the HE12.1.
I did brush through it once, and recall the HE12.1 crossover being designed with constant impedance in mind for low watt single-ended tube amps.

I dunno, but that may be the reason for all the inductors.

I know you are familiar with HE12.1 crossover diagram. You did Ryans crossover networks if I remember right.

Eminence shows PDF files for various cabinet sizes and the graphs for the Beta 12CX woofer. I kinda favor the 3.5 foot cabinet size....

They show the APT 50, and a few TS parameters. But no graphs of the Beta 12CX/APT 50 combination together. (That I could find.)
The have crossover models to buy, but  obviously they show no shematics of the networks.
Just the center break point frequencies of 1.6kHz and 3.5kHz.

The APT 50 has a recommended center frequency of 3.5kHz.

The HE12.1 xover may be different than what Eminence offers, but I would think the HE12.1 network would work just as well if not a little better maybe.

Never know until you lash something up I suppose....

Ohhh... I know this is about 3 months late... but I MIGHT (big might) be able to find the PDF of the Adire crossover.. I think I have it saved on a harddrive in my computer , in storage, that no longer works... But the hard drive could be put in a different computer.

Actually.. he took a physical look at the x-overs once... when I had the enclosures LineX'd... but I actually did the crossovers myself. He designed some X-overs for my 3-ways I started to put in my car before I left. (still have the drivers... still have the design... somewhere).

oops...sorry 'bout that....

You still have your HE12's in the tower enclosures?

Curious how a Adire HE12 compares to a B&C 12CXB........

hmm... yeah... the crossovers I might have printed on paper in a garage under 2 yrs of sawdust... never to be found again.... or it could also possibly be on a bad computer's harddrive hidden in a storage way up north.

as for the HE12.1's... Yes & No... I sold them to my buddy before I left for Japan. He loved them, But he just moved to Seattle and left them at his Mom's, He said I could pick them up and use them anytime I wanted.... But, I don't have any space for them.

Oh yeah, I'm living out in Medical Lake now too. 11 acres of land (GF has horses).

one thing I remember about the HE 12's....  Ok, so its the Eminence Beta 12cx driver.... I talked to Dan a bit about this, but I remember when I first cranked them up for the first time, about a year after I had them.... there started to be some strange breakup. I thought it was the CD(tweet). Turns out it was the cone of the 12 breaking up. and there really wasn't much I could do cept throw a lil latex(paint I think?) around the outer edge of the cone.

Thing is, After awhile I didn't notice that break up anymore... not sure if its because of a change in the music I was listening to....or if I got used to it... but the last year I had them I don't remember that breakup problem at all. In fact, I remember trying to reproduce the problem again, and not hearing it.
