I plan to run them in 12-14 cubes tuned between 32-35hz's. Power will be a Zapco 1100.0 Reference. I'll probably have to set them up in four rows of six to fit them in my car. Box will have a fiberglass front baffle too. I may even try a high tuned port to see if they'll hit over 150.

It'll be cool watching all those TB's boogie together.

I still remember the sound of Mike's eight RE8's in his Bronco.

It romped hard, and had a nice smooth sound. Not agressive. It didn't take much power to get rather loud, IIRC.

Its fun watching these little guys move. Its kinda like watching midget porn lmao. The main portion of the box is built. I finally left my old job yesterday which means no more shop. The weather is too bad to go work in the drive way. But I hope to have some major progress by Monday. I start work again on Tuesday...

I still need to buy another deck. Im thinking of ordering a Pioneer 9800 or 7800 off ebay since they are sellling them cheaper than cost. I may wait and see what kind of prices I can get from my new job. Im thinking of taking this head unitless time to get the tweets put in my kicks too. Who knows lmao.

Another thought I have is to run two more 5.25's per door for midbass instead of Extremis. That way no driver in my car is truely bigger than 5.25"s Smiley

Eh, Im scaling it back to 18 to make it easier to get done. 24 would fit, but its too much work. I'll use the other six as midbass in the doors or something like that.

GOOD for YOU!!!  Remember ALL those loooong conversations about doing what you love?

Well it's about FRICKIN TIME!!!!!  What happened out there at the other car audio store?  I know there taking care of you at car toys.

My project (wall w/ 4 15's) is basically still in the works.  I still wanna see it done but it's taking longer and longer.  I'm going to las vegas with the family so there goes 5k that could've been used on the project ... but oh well.

It will be just 3 15's, in a regular ported box.

I love the direction things are going for you, keep up the good work and btw, I TOLD YOU about ADIRE didn't I???  Cheesy

(I'm a i told u so kinda guy i cant help it :p)

That's awesome Robert....

Hey, what do the stereo guys think when tell them or show them the kind of stuff people do (like the stuff on this board) with the equipment we have?  It's wierd sometimes, I don't think alot of those guys even comprehend what's going on.....

Car Toys is a good chain out here, been in buisness a long time.  They building boxes there still?  Custom work?  I'll bet you probably know more than any of the other guys there....  Let us know how it is....

Didnt see the new post lmao.. Forums been a bit dead...    again..

Car Toys is an awesome place to work. Its heaven compared to the shop I was working at. We can build whatever boxes we want to put up for sale on the floor and make commision off them. Ive been playing around a bit with bbpro and the product we carry to see if theres anything worth while..
Suprisingly theres a guy at my shop that knows/cares about as much as I do. His box building skills/building time puts me to shame. The cool thing is though, is that he thinks alot like me. So we bs most of the day about different designs and ways to fabricate whatever. Its fun.

Alittle update about the TB project. I sold my Storm off and bought an 02 Blazer Extreme. I was considering just putting all them behind the rear seats with whatever space I could muster.. But now Im thinkin of just pulling the rear seats and doing a wall. And possibly adding a few more of them. No more than 12 more depending on baffle space. Money's a bit tight right now, so progress will probably be kinda slow. I need to black out the rear windows (their tinted dark factory, but not dark enough) and an alarm system put in it.. Then a headunit.

Which car toys?  I used to shop the one across from the Science Center in the early 90s....  Shit, I remember buying Series 1 18s for $79 a pop down there in like 92-93....  Bought like 4 of them and put them in huge sealed boxes in my room... Drove my parents nuts....  LOL...  I even rember when they used to sell the molded plastic Kicker boxes that were flouresent green or pink....  Doood, that was a long time ago!  Car Toys, Sounds on wheels, Sound Advice and Bellevue autosound were it back in the day....

I'm glad to see you are guys are still building boxes, it is kind of becoming a lost art honestly....  I was looking a Parts Express sales flyer and when you can get a dula 12 box, carpeted and 3/4mdf for $30....  Then you understand why I guess....  Keep building man..

I really wish sometimes I could a shop up and just do one-off custom installs with no brand loyalty at all...  You know, bangin ass systems for base ball players and buisness execs with more money that brains....  That would be fun...  And charge $150 an hour for labor.....

Thats not unheard of. Look at Unique Whips. Its seems they only really deal with upiddy up's. Im sure they do alot of normal installs, but that wouldnt make for good tv..

I work at the Federal Way location. Our prefab boxes are cheap. They probably average around $150ish. Then we have custom prefabs that we make that can sell anywhere from $175 for dual 10's sealed to probaby $300 for dual 12's ported. They're custom prefabs because they look like prefab, but they are custom because they are actually designed for the subs in them. Then we do the semi high end custom boxes that have the fiberglass, plexi work, etc that sell for anywhere between $400 to probably $650. But they are still built and sized to sit on the sales floor. In the rare occation that someone comes in and wants the full meal deal, we offer that and price just depends on the installer and the job. All Car Toys stores are the same, only real difference is the people that run them.
