yeah the one with the TORN titanium cone

well i explained that i had everything set up correctly in an enclosure they recommended and they aren't going to warranty it...i used a scope to set the gains at multiple tones no bass boost at a 0db reference...in an enclosure that didn't reach xmax until 20 hz i want to say with the subsonics set...

yeah no coverage...i have to pay 100 to get it re-coned...what they told me is that the coil was burnt and bottomed out even though they said the power was fine and so was the enclosure!  and they still haven't sent me my goddamn invoice and i talked to someone at least a week and a half ago!

sorry i just wanted to bitch

That sucks.  I assume you are going to spend the $100 to get it reconed?

I still think that is BS.

If you can bottom a sub out and shatter the cone near the triple joint, that is a poor desing.  And if your cone can shatter that easily, just think what 5 years of hard playing might do to it even if you didn't bottom it out...

I think thye sent you a bad sub, either something was set on the cone assembly during production and damaged that area or it was just a crappy piece of titanium from the start....

I don't understand why they won't pay for the recone though, it is pennies to them, a $100 to you...  Not to mention the potential loss of a repeat customer...

yeah i had lots of respect for TC and their drivers, still do because up until the failure, the TC-1000 was an awsome driver, but the whole situation with the way they dealt with me, i am not happy at all.  i spent the money to buy it, paid, what i think is a ridiculous amount to ship the sub, and they won't even cover it....i guess i wouldn't be so upset if i didn't have thing set up the way i did, but i mean they told me my power and enclousre were fine and i even took the extra precaution of using a scope and setting up at o 0db reference instead of a -3db or even higher....i won't be going back to TC or Audiopulse after this...i just don't want to have to deal with these problems

i forsee this being a problem when they actually start selling through dealers, the whole point of being a dealer is having the convenience know that if saomething fails, you can go in and get it taken care of but, if you have to send it in and have them look at it and wait for a new driver/re-cone, why even bother and sell through dealerships?

i'm just upset with the whole situation, never had any problems with anything in my car audio set-up EXCEPT my first set of Type-S Alpines(i set an airtank in fron of the subs and put a hole on one of them lol) and now the TC, but the difference is that now i actually have a good idea what i am doing when setting equipment up
