Anybody else do it in here? My team apparently sucks, I'm only 2-5 and my only two wins are against my brother, who is 0-7 (but he actually has scored more total points on the season than I have). The other two teams in our league are each 6-1. Yeah, it's like that.
Having only four teams in the league is kinda fun because you can pick up free agents who you think might do well that week pretty easily. It doesn't lend to trades very well, though. larger leagues are better for those. But my guys constantly underperform. If any of you are familiar with fantasy the computer predicts a score for your team each week, and I've only met that score one time out of seven weeks. It's pretty sad. The thing that gets me, though, is that we did an autodraft to start with. My brother and I were very involved in that, ranking players how we wanted, etc., while the other two didn't do anything to change the computer rankings. The other two people have made a combined 9 moves this season (trades and free agent pickups), while my brother and i have made a combined 42. They are not involved, and one guy has even had rudi johnson on his starting lineup the whole season and he's been out since like week two with an injury. They barely replace people who have byes that week. Yet he still wins.
I thought I had a good system of picking people. I'd try and match up players who are going against the worst defenses that week in terms of yards given up in that facet of the game (rush ypg for running backs, etc.), as well as how the game will turn out. If I think my player's team will constantly be behind and throwing to catch up, I'll add value to the receiver or qb. But apparently I suck and picking out of a hat would be a better idea.

My wife's best friend lives for it...... I never really got in to it much, a few of the Americans here play it, the Europeans think American Football is for pussies, that is when I tell them mostly girls play soccer in America...

In other real football news, if any of you read ESPN.com articles you may have seen that a high school football team in kansas set a national record for points in a quarter with 72 last weekend. That team is pretty good, they've won like 50 games in a row and have outscored their opponents 640-0 or so this season. But they are 1-2A (lowest class in Kansas, they have like 50 kids at the high school). The funny thing is that the team they were playing was the high school my stepdad went to, and all he could say was "oops."
He also grew up on a farm and said we have it easy nowadays with sports since we have all this protective clothing and sport-specific shoes and all. He said back in his day he wore cowboy boots for everything. working on the farm, going to school, playing football, running track. haha, no wonder they suck. that may not be entirely true but it's funny.

I had a career week, scoring 149 points (previous season high was 130). I thought I had it locked up, I made some really good free agent pickups and start/sit decisions this week. But no, got beat by 30. 30! this is stupid.

Cause I also have Braylon, Kitna, I had Brown and Williams as my RB's and they are not both on the IR, L. Coles and Welker, just an overall good team.

I have coles too. the difference is that you probably play in an 8 team league or something, and mine only has 4. much less talent diffusion in mine.
