Well I'm finally out of college (after my two finals this week anyways).  I graduated today with a BA in Geology and a minor in business.

So it's off into the job world for me.  Had an interview on Friday, it was decent I guess, they basically just told me about the company, what I'd do, and we talked about my history and what I might want to do.  Nothing too difficult.  They said they'd let me know after they get my transcript and talk with their superiors if they'd like a second interview, probably late this week or next.  That is with a private firm, and I have another interview set up for thursday with a state department.  So possibilities are there, but cashing in may be the hard part.  Both jobs are in Topeka (ick), which is about a 35 minute drive from where I live.  Time to start the real life.

the only thing about taking gen eds last is that you might have problems with remembering stuff you learned for your major when you first start going out on interviews after graduation because all the crap they make you take will be more in the front of your mind.  I found that even if classes for my major weren't related, there were still small points in a class that remind you of something from a previous class, so it helps you remember.  But this is the first semester that I haven't taken a geology course and I already feel like I'm losing some of it, replaced with stupid present value of future cash flows equations and philosophies on western civilization.

yeah i know what you're talking about...i am working as a student worker at my school and i have to go through the electronics labs and clean and i sometimes, i stop to look at the boards to see what the first year kids are learning and sometimes i just have a blank, but it comes back to me...i wish i would have gotten some gen eds done but i was full time with electronics alone so i didn't have much time for more classes or much of a job either

It's also kinda surprising that you could take so many major classes at once, because usually as you go higher you have a number of prerequisits for the classes, not only other electronics courses but some gen eds as well, like math and physics I would imagine for you.

So some of you may know that there is quite an ice storm moving through Kansas right now.  It's been lightly raining here for about an hour and is just starting to freeze on windows and sidewalks, roads are still all right.  But there was an email sent out today to students about if the finals tomorrow are cancelled due to weather, they won't be made up until January 17.  That's over a month away!  How much would you forget in that time?
